With the Cooperation Signed with Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, the Digital Irrigation Management Project in Cotton Farming Begins
Throughout last week, academics from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT) were our guests within the scope of the digital irrigation management project we call DIMP (Data-driven Irrigation Management Project).
The project kick-off meeting was held, and workshops were organized with our stakeholders UTAEM and BORSAV. In addition, collaboration agreements between Ege University (EÜ) and TUAT were signed, along with a project protocol between EÜ, TUAT, and İTB.
In this three-year project, the efficiency, production, and socio-economic impacts at the farmer level of variable rate irrigation practices will be investigated using data collected through remote sensing methods based on water stress in cotton.
This cooperation marks an important step in agricultural technologies and sustainable farming practices.
