Project Summary : The aim of the project is to demonstrate the differences in yield, quality, and cost between irrigation practices based on water stress in cotton and variable rate irrigation practices, thereby promoting the widespread adoption of efficient irrigation methods. For this purpose, trial fields were established at UTAEM for cotton cultivation, and the first harvest was carried out this year. The project is expected to last three years. The project sponsor is the Inclusive Growth Association for Türkiye, and on the Japan side, Japan Tobacco.
Experts from TUAT are working together with UTAEM specialists to analyze the data collected from the trial fields during site visits.
As part of the project, a field visit to Japan was conducted on November 18–22 with the participation of İTTM, İTB, and UTAEM.
